In today’s article, I’m going to show you how to install Laview Doorbell camera in just a couple of minutes.
The Laview doorbell cameras are one of the most underrated surveillance systems in today’s world. As much as we all love our Rings and Vivints, there are several other lesser-known brands that are totally worth your time. Laview is one of those.
Now, if you have bought your Laview doorbell camera and you’re finding it hard to install it, don’t worry. We’ve got you.
In today’s article, we’ll be taking you on a step-by-step journey into the installation of Laview doorbell cameras.
Step 1: Turn off the Power
Before you begin, make sure that the power in your existing doorbell is between 16-24 Volts AC.
When you’ve confirmed that, ensure that you turn off the circuit breaker before you begin the installation.
This way, you can restrict the flow of power and avoid accidents while you work.
Step 2: Take Down Your Old Doorbell
Remove the faceplate of your new doorbell before you proceed.
After that, take down the existing doorbell. Pull it out from the wall and unscrew the screws that connect the wires to your old doorbell.
While you’re at it, mark the spot you’d want to mount your doorbell using the two screw holes on your new doorbell.
Step 3: Mount Your New Doorbell
When you’ve determined where your doorbell is supposed to be, bend the exposed ends of your existing doorbell wire. Then you can wrap them around the screws.
If the screws aren’t long enough, use external wires to augment them.
To further help you with this installation, I’d advise that you use a circuit diagram as a guide to help you correctly wire your doorbell.
If you don’t understand how a circuit diagram works, you can ask people around you to help you with it.
When you’re done wiring, make sure you snake back the wires into the doorbell hole. Afterward, mount your doorbell and screw it in place.
Step 4: Begin the WiFi Connection Process
Now that you’ve mounted up your doorbell, switch the circuit breaker back on and wait for the Laview doorbell to initialize.
It will take no less than one minute to come on and show blue and red lights simultaneously.
Step 5: Set Up an Account on the Laview Doorbell App
Download the Laview Connect app from Playstore or iOS depending on your device.
When you’re done, open the app and allow it to send you push notifications.
Then tap the plus icon on the corner of your screen and choose the option that says ‘doorbell camera’.
You’ll be asked to scan the QR code on the body of the doorbell. nd when you do, you will be asked to tap the ‘connect to network’ button.
After that, enter your network and WiFi information and wait for your doorbell camera to link to your account.
Follow the remaining instructions, and choose a name and password for your doorbell camera. Activate your doorbell and wait for a while.
Afterward, you’ll be able to see your front porch from your smartphone, showing you that your doorbell is ready for use.
